Sierra Leone proudly stands at the heart of regional diplomacy this July as it hosts the ECOWAS Mid‑Year Statutory Meetings 2026. The highlight of this important gathering will be the 69th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government. As Chair of the ECOWAS Authority, His Excellency Julius Maada Bio will graciously welcome leaders from across the Community. Together, they will continue to nurture a shared vision of a peaceful, prosperous and truly integrated West Africa.

A defining moment for
West African unity

The Summit brings together Heads of State and Government, ministers, senior government officials, diplomats, development partners, and regional stakeholders from across the Economic Community of West African States to deliberate on the region’s most pressing priorities — peace and security, economic integration, democratic governance, trade, infrastructure, and sustainable development.

The programme culminates in Lungi with the commissioning of the ECOWAS Logistics Depot and the Julius Maada Bio International Conference Centre, followed by the 69th Ordinary Summit of the Authority of Heads of State and Government.
